‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: Premiere photos featuring Candice Accola, Michael Trevino

“The Vampire Diaries” is actually making quite the interesting move right now when it comes to revealing some of their first photos from the October 2 premiere. Namely, they are doing so without three of their main characters.

In the images that were released via The CW today, there was nary a mention of Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, and Nina Dobrev. For the sake of Ian, it is understandable given that the producers obviously want to keep Damon’s current fate a mystery. However, what about Elena and Stefan? We already know where these two characters are to a certain extent, and it doesn’t feel like they have that much to hide.

Still, we are happy that the photos are shining a light on some characters that don’t always get the attention. We’re grateful to have more of Matt Davis again as Alaric, even if it is not entirely clear why he is spending some time now with Caroline (Candice Accola). Meanwhile, Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) is going to be on a little bit of a warpath, but he finds himself in an interesting position given how often his supernatural powers have changed over the past few years.

By the end of this episode (which is entitled “I’ll Remember”), you may have some answers to at least a few things that are on your mind right now. However, it may still be a while before you have everything figured out in terms of what these characters are going to do next.
