‘The X Factor’ UK review: Jay James, Andrea Faustini, Stevi Ritchie hit Wembley

The judges -Sunday night’s episode of “The X Factor” UK was a mixed bag. There were performances that were by and large superior to anything from Saturday, though we also had some subpar folks advance, including a girl group that makes us question whether or not that is really the best thing that Britain is offering in that department this year.

Andrea Faustini – How many articles of clothing does this man own with pugs on them? Well, he just happens to have a thing. More importantly, he’s a really good singer who could represent Italy do very well in this competition.

Rouge Kiss – We have no clue how these people went through. They were terrible the first time, they were terrible here, and they’ll probably be terrible moving forward.

Overload – This is much more of a legitimate group. Very good vocals, a nice arrangement on the song, and some sort of recognition of what is actually hip and current in the music industry.

Stevi Ritchie – After this season, Stevi should hire himself out to be a singing dad for children’s birthday parties. He’s very pleasant, even though his singing is for the most part rubbish. We mostly like him because he tries so hard to be good.

Kayleigh Manners – The nerves almost got the best of her, but she still managed to get a second chance, which was enough to her through to the next round.

Jay James – This man is getting the best treatment possible from the show’s edit, but we really don’t mind. He’s that good. but he also has a backstory that is fascinating that adds to his overall character. He could last a long time.
