‘Mad Men’ season 7: Elisabeth Moss heads to Broadway; what does this mean for ‘True Detective’?

Elisabeth Moss -Is Elisabeth Moss heading to a completely new world? We would only say so in contrast to what she has been doing primarily for the past seven years.

According to a new report from Deadline, the “Mad Men” star will be the lead role in a new Broadway revival of Wendy Wasserstein’s “The Heidi Chronicles,” which will begin its run in March 2015. This is great news for her, mostly because we are almost 100% confident that she can do everything that she puts her mind to.

However, at the same time you do have to wonder if this puts an end to her being in the running for HBO’s “True Detective,” given that she will need time to rehearse the play, and HBO has not even announced the casting for the new season, let alone when it would film. Our guess is that if the show is ready for a debut in the summer (which is our guess), it will need to start filming in either December or January. Unless a scheduling miracle is worked out here, this could be tricky. We’re not writing her off completely, but are lowering her down a few rungs on the ladder of contenders.

As for the remaining episodes of the Matthew Weiner series, AMC has not offered up an official premiere date just yet. With that being said, it appears fairly likely that we are going to see the show come back on the air in April, given that this is the window of the past few seasons of the show.
