‘Game of Thrones’ season 5: Emilia Clarke’s next big project dated

Game of Thrones -The moment that “Game of Thrones” took off as a franchise, you knew it was inevitable that some of its stars would eventually land some big roles elsewhere. Kit Harrington has done some big-budget films already, and we’re seeing some of the younger stars like Sophie Turner also snag some film gigs.

How does all of this tie into the show? It mostly means more scheduling challenges, and we do wonder what the implications could be if “Game of Thrones” does have to go on hiatus at some point in the future due to the show catching up on the books.

For the time being, though, seeing these actors in other work is mostly a good thing, since it is an opportunity to get more exposure in press for the show, as well. When it comes to Emilia Clarke, we certainly believe that she will receive plenty of attention for her role as Sarah Connor in the upcoming “Terminator” films … which now have official release dates. (Granted, these are still subject to change.)

  • The next film is entitled “Terminator: Genysis,” and it will debut on July 1, 2015.
  • Per The Hollywood Reporter, two more films will be made if the first movie is successful. Not only that, but these two will film back-to-back. The second movie is currently dated for May 19, 2017, while the third would come out on June 29, 2018.

It is for the latter two movies that we would sympathize with the producers of the HBO show for figuring out schedules, since they would need to shoot in advance. This would most likely not come into effect, though, until the summer of 2016, given the only major schedule conflicts next year could be her doing press for “Genysis” at around the same time that the sixth season would be filming.

We’ll keep an eye on this, and any other projects that the “Game of Thrones” cast may have coming up. In case you haven’t heard yet, Bran Stark may be appearing in the upcoming season, after all!
