‘Glee’ season 6 spoilers: Has Darren Criss joined Lea Michele in recording music?

Blaine -As you may know by now, work has begun in earnest for the upcoming sixth / final season of “Glee,” even if it is mostly in the department of recording music. This is something that the show has always chosen to get out of the way first before doing anything else, and it makes more sense now than ever before than to try and do the songs in bunches. After all, wouldn’t this be an easier way to save a little money?

We reported on yesterday that Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) has already hit up the recording studio to get some numbers ready for the premiere episode (which will probably air at some point in 2015). Now, we’re finding out that Darren Criss (Blaine Anderson) is doing the same exact thing. In a post on Twitter, the actor confirmed that he has also been in the studio this week.

Does this mean that the first episode back is heavy on the Rachel / Blaine performances? Maybe, but it would not be a shock. Despite him joining in the second season, Criss has become one of the go-to performers when it comes to solos on the show. Maybe it is because he has a voice that works so well for many different genres, or he is a character who fans respond to well overall. Either way, we’re going to be hearing plenty of him.

In case you missed it, the premiere episode picks up with Rachel going back to Ohio after failing in Los Angeles as a TV star, and we get to see from there what happens next.
