‘Criminal Minds’ season 10 spoilers: Official details on premiere, Jennifer Love Hewitt’s arrival

Criminal Minds -Where do we expect to see the story go on the “Criminal Minds” premiere? Hopefully in some creepy (and interesting) places, given that this is where the show tends to shine the vast majority of the time.

CBS officially unveiled the synopsis for this and a number of other shows recently, and in this case, it includes getting the first detail or two about having Jennifer Love Hewitt as a part of the show:

“The BAU team investigates a series of murders in Bakersfield, Calif., which have left the victims unidentifiable. Also, the team welcomes new agent Kate Callahan (The Client List‘s Jennifer Love Hewitt) into the BAU fold.”

Honestly, we’re still surprised in the first place about Hewitt’s hire, and it goes to show that this is a show that is still fine with spending money ten seasons in. You don’t often see that, and we’re sure that her price tag was more than some reasonably unknown actress (as it should be).

Obviously, the concern for the first few episodes of “Criminal Minds” is that introducing the Kate character is going to offset the balance of the show, mostly because you are adding someone to the mix who hasn’t been there, and that can oftentimes be very problematic. This is definitely the problem that “NCIS” season 12 ran into when it comes to the Bishop character recently. Hopefully, having the summer to work on that will improve some of those issues. (They already were improving at the end of last season.)
