‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ spoilers: See first poster! Also, Ryan Murphy helms premiere

American Horror Story -Want to get a further look at some of the madness ahead on “American Horror Story: Freak Show“? Well, FX has just given us one of their most revealing looks yet at the upcoming episodes, this time in the form of a poster that they have just released.

You can see the image below in all of its glory via The Hollywood Reporter, and within this article, there was also the big news that co-creator Ryan Murphy directed the first episode (which has already filmed). This is the first time since season 1 that he has helmed an individual episode of the series, which shows the commitment that he has at the moment to trying to ensure that the story is great.

Murphy also shared the following about what some of his general expectations were for the story:

“At every freak show, you have the tropes but there’s some [that are] unique and weird … It’s about something: It’s about outcasts and how society at that time … true stories about circus performers who were cast aside. The story in many ways dovetails with Asylum, because they leave one era and you can see many of them in real life were put into asylums. There’s a great symmetry we’ve come up with that’s rewarding.”

Does this sound exciting to just about everyone else? We feel like it is, and it gives us a whole lot of hope that there will be a story that far surpasses the uneven “Coven,” which just wrapped up earlier this year. Given that this is supposedly the last season for Jessica Lange, we certainly hope that it presents her with an opportunity to go out with a bang.
