‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Are we getting close to Chris Soules – Arie Luyendyk Jr. reveal?

“The Bachelor” announcement has been teased for quite a long time now, and we may be finally getting close to it.

In a post on his official Twitter, show creator Mike Fleiss made it clear that they are “about to announce” who the new lead of the franchise is going to be. Are there any major contenders? You have to believe so. Chris Soules is most likely the choice; while Arie Luyendyk Jr. was supposedly in contention and there is a following out there for the, this campaign has slowed down in recent weeks. Plus, it may be hard for the show to ignore the recency bias, and also the fact that Chris has that all-American story of a former guy looking for that special someone.

Do we think that Chris will be a good Bachelor if he is picked? He doesn’t have the biggest personality in the world, and that may be a strike against him. However, at the same time one of the other things you have to remember here is that being “The Bachelor” is really more about the women than the men. If you have a great crop of ladies, they will be the ones to bring the drama. You really only need the guy around to do montage shots of how badly he wants someone, and to kiss, date, and hand out roses. He’s rarely the source of anything actually juicy.

One other thing that Chris has going for him? The bar has been set very low thanks to Juan Pablo’s season. It will not be very hard for him to top that.
