‘Doctor Who’ season 8: Peter Capaldi on Jenna Coleman – ‘leaving’ rumors

Doctor Who -Are we really going to see Jenna Coleman leave “Doctor Who” at some point in the near future? That is what the rumor mill suggested earlier this month, with stories coming out that Clara “The Impossible Girl” Oswald would embark on her last journey during the upcoming Christmas Special.

We understand the existence of the rumors for the most part, by and large because this is the sort of thing that we see this show go through and deal with more often than not. Anytime a Companion sticks around for over a year, it is suddenly a big story. The Christmas Special will give Coleman a nice chunk of two years on the show as the main companion.

Speaking on “The One Show,” Coleman’s co-star and Doctor #12 said that he is “not looking for a new assistant,” and addressed the rumors with the following:

“I’ve read she may be leaving at Christmas, but I don’t even know if she’ll get to Christmas, you’ll have to watch it and see what happens.”

We suppose that this is note a full denial that she is leaving, but the show would never reveal it one way or another. We’ve never quite understand why there are some out there who want to spoil this show in the first place, given that so much of the joy we’ve taken from it over the years has to do with the shock and the imagination.
