‘America’s Got Talent’ rankings: Praising Smoothini, Emil & Daniel, Quintavious Jackson

The full review -We’re a little late in getting up our “America’s Got Talent” rankings for Tuesday night, but better late than never, right? There is still plenty to talk about when it comes to the final performers coming on the show tonight … though some are better than others, and we do not expect the same jam-packed show as last week.

So how are we determining the rankings here? Think along the lines of performance quality, screen time, and the voting history for this sort of act on past seasons.

12. Dom the Bom’s Triple Threat – It’s not that we think the kid card-thrower is terrible, but this has zero chance of being so incredible that it merits another performance on the show.

11. Jonah Smith – We have no recollection of this act, which to us means he’ll perform at the start of the show, get buried, and be sent home.

10. Mothmen Dance – We kind of dig the name, but once again, not a lot of recognition here, and this is a busy night for dance crews.

9. Nina Burri – We give any contortionist an outside chance of advancing if they do some cool enough tricks, but it has to be really cool, and other acts need to struggle.

8. Bad Boys of Ballet – This is probably our favorite dance crew of the ones performing, but we also feel like having three of them on one night will split up some of the votes.

7. Jonatan Riquelme – A good balancing act, but it probably hurts him that he is coming after someone with a somewhat similar skill set (and minus a dog).

6. Extreme – We don’t like the name at all, but it’s a dance crew that also has younger kids in it. This is the sort of act that America typically really eats up.

5. One Voice Children’s Choir – Once again, kids. Also, there is no other real choir on the show this year, and this will make them stand out so long as this is a good performance.

4. Kelli Glover – She has a ton of screen time on multiple seasons of the show, and we have zero doubt that she can come out and nail some big notes.

3. Quintavious Jackson – One of the few young singers this year good enough to compete against the more professional talents. Quintavious is the real deal, and he is the most likely vocalist to advance.

2. Emil & Daniel – These two string artists have a following online already, and they’re extremely good. Like the children’s choir, we feel like they are also aided big-time by there not being anyone else like them.

1. Smoothini – We have probably seen more people excited about Smoothini than any other act tonight, and we get it. While we’ve yet to see some enormously elaborate trick from him, he doesn’t need it. He finds a way to be impressive with simple objects, and he’s also extremely funny! That’s a killer combination on this show.

We’ll have our review of tonight’s episode later, so be on the lookout for that. Also, you can sign up to score some other talented TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
