‘American Idol’ finalist Josh Gracin posts apparent suicide note; later found okay

The news -This is turning out to be an extremely sad, shocking week when it comes to the “American Idol” community. It was only a short time ago when we lost finalist Michael Johns, and for a brief period of time today it looked as though we were going to lose Josh Gracin.

The country singer, who first appeared on the second season of the show and made it all the way to fourth place, raised alarms today when he posted a note on his Facebook claiming that his wife “turned his back on [him] when [he] needed her the most.” We’re not going to speculate on what happened between the two, since that is entirely their business and not ours to get involved with. However, this immediately caused a great deal of concern, leading to ultimately a tweet from the singer’s manager posted on his Twitter page:

This is Josh’s manager, Amy. Thank you everyone for your prayers & concern. Josh is safe & with his family now. I promise to update soon.”

According to TMZ, the police intercepted Gracin on his way back home and all they would say for the time being is that he is “safe.”

This is obviously a serious situation, and something that we will try to monitor over the coming days. One of the things that you have to remember right now, especially in the wake of the tragic suicide of Robin Williams, is that these are people who desperately need help, and just because they are entertainers, we cannot possibly know how they feel on the inside for most of their lives. We just hope that Gracin is able to get the help that he needs, and he is able to do so privately without the media or anyone else breathing down his neck and demanding answers.
