‘Twisted’ canceled by ABC Family, becomes latest network casualty
There is one thing that we have learned about ABC Family over the years, and it is that they have basically zero problem canceling any of their shows. What’s the reason for that? We feel like that they almost have a broadcast mentality in that if something is not a hit for them right away, it probably will not be.
In a way, maybe that is true for them given they they need young audiences to be hooked, since they will all eventually wither away and go to other things. It is different than a network like AMC, which has an already-mature audience watching and who will be willing to go on Netflix to find some of the shows that they enjoy and watch live later.
Last year, the big ABC Family cancellation was “Bunheads,” which had a devoted following and even some critical acclaim for it thanks to star Sutton Foster. This year, that show is “Twisted.” It has a very shocking premise to begin with, and the ratings throughout its first season just were not at the level needed for it to survive. With all this being said, this show, like “Bunheads,” had its own loyal following who would have done anything to see the show survive.
At the end of the day, the one bit of advice we’d give you before tuning into an ABC Family show is to be well aware of what you’re getting yourself into, and not to get too attached. While they do occasionally find his, few of their shows last longer than just a handful of seasons. You know this when “Pretty Little Liars” is one of their longest-running hits already.

i am very disappointed they said they would give us till the end of the month of aug. but they didn’t honor their word and it is very sad for all of us that had work so hard and long to get them to see that Twisted did have loyal followers that would have love to see it come back i am one of them we have been trying for four months and it just seem like they didn’t even see us or they didn’t want to see us and i know that it would had a better ratings if they would have just give Twisted another chance it deserves it and it goes to prove that you really can not get into any of their shows cause you can be watching them one day and they can be gone the next

I am very upset that twisted has been canceled it is one show that my teens and i watched together. It had a great story line and the actors were excellent. I was upset when they canceled Ravenswood but i know that wasnt getting the ratings. And my daughter was very upset when they canceled make it or break it. AbcFamily is going to go bankrupt because people are eventually going to get tired of this. I know i am and i will not be watching Abcfamily any more.

If the last two episodes had ended with PLL then Twisted would have gotten the ratings it needed to continue.They cancel anything with a 1.29 and below.It has to get at least a 1.30 which is really sad for those of who have fought so hard for this show.Chasing Life fans beware your show is next as your ratings are even lower then most of Twisted’s ratings were.
