‘Glee’ season 6: British press twists up Kevin McHale’s Cory Monteith comment

The wait begins -Sometimes, we do wonder how in the world the British press gets itself so worked up, and sometimes without really a whole lot of buildup. The latest example of that is the comments that Kevin McHale reportedly gave about the final season of “Glee.”

We saw some headlines this weekend about the late Cory Monteith’s Finn Hudson somehow being a part of the upcoming season, and this was somehow gleamed from the comments that McHale gave supposedly to The Sun:

“His character was just an integral part of the show, so there’s really no way to go on and see these characters grow up without him being a part of it in some way … We’re about to start filming our last season, but, as sad as that may be, I think that’s that. We’ve had a really good run, and we’ve done some amazing storytelling, and we’ve got meet a lot of the fans around the world, which is pretty rare for a show to get to do.”

So basically, what McHale is actually saying here is that Finn’s memory will be kept in mind throughout the entire season, just as it has been so far. Ryan Murphy has been very careful with honoring Monteith with the show, and we certainly believe that will continue as we near the finish line. We know that Finn was very involved in the original ending of the show, and he will certainly be remembered as those final scripts are crafted.

At the moment, though, it is still far to early to know where the final 13 episodes of the show will go. All that has been confirmed is that there is a specific plan, there will most likely be a time jump, and that every surviving original cast member has been asked back.
