‘Longmire’ season 3, episode 10 (finale) spoilers: What we know, and what to expect

Tomorrow night marks the end of the road for “Longmire,” or at least the end of it for the time being. We’ll examine more of the show’s ratings situation tomorrow, but let’s just say for now that if you really enjoy this show, it is in your best interest by far to watch A&E tonight and see what happens with it.

What can you expect for this big episode? While we’re not here to spoil everything for you, here are at least a few simple things to keep a look out for.

  1. At the moment, we see there being four major stories on the show: Trying to stop Branch, the murder of Walt’s wife, what happens next with Henry, and Vic’s marriage. These four will at least be addressed in some way during the finale.
  2. Promos and synopses have specifically suggested that the Walt story is close to resolution, which would most-likely bring a great sense of relief to this character.
  3. There will at least be one twist that you do not see coming, and maybe much more than that.
  4. What on the subject of cliffhangers? This is speculation, but there are several different directions the show could go with it. If they want to dare A&E into making a renewal, then they could end the series on a super-dramatic note that has fans wanting more. Meanwhile, they could tie this up and allow it to be a series finale.

When it comes to personal feelings on the latter point, we anticipate an ending that ties a bow on a few things, but also leaves the story open just enough to continue. That way, there’s no enormous cliffhanger, but there is somewhere else to go. That’s the best course of action for a show in this position right now.
