‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 2 spoilers: Is Captain Irving in the clear?

Irving -Save for maybe Monopoly when it’s near the end of the game and everybody else has the hotels, there are not many times when it’s a good thing to be in jail. However, we were to wonder if this is the best-case scenario for Captain Irving on “Sleepy Hollow” season 2 … at least at first.

According to executive producer Mark Goffman, though, Orlando Jones’ character is not going to be out of the woods just because he’s been sent to Tarry Town. Speaking to TV Guide, Goffman said that the supernatural (or ghostly?) presence of the psychiatric hospital is going to lead to our institutionalized

“He’s up against forces that are incredibly powerful … As we find out, Tarry Town Psychiatric has a history with ghosts. Since it’s a mental institution, they’re not just ghosts, they’re crazy ghosts. He’s got his hands full. Over the course of the season, he will help lead a rebellion.”

We do want to see Irving reunited with Ichabod, Abbie, and many of the other characters at some point before the second season come to a close. However, at the same time there is admittedly a big part of us that loves the fact that he’s going to have such a big story for himself that is reasonably independent. No longer does he have to be the guy who scoffs at theories and wonders what Crane is up to; instead, he’s got his own challenges to deal with, and he also clearly has that motivation to get back to his family.
