‘MasterChef’ season 5, episode 11 preview: The top 11 play with fire

We love the format of “MasterChef,” mostly in that the show really gives you a long season to get to know all of the contestants, their strengths, and all their weaknesses. We’re also glad that the show got rid of some of those auditions to get us into the good stuff a little bit faster than they would have otherwise.

Next week, the remaining 11 contestants are going to have a chance to get back into the Mystery Box / Elimination Challenge routine with something involving choice … and then something involving fire. We have to say, though, that the preview that aired after the episode may be one of the least-revealing things that we’ve ever seen on the show.

The only thing that really stood out to us through watching this preview was something involving fire for the elimination challenge … which we are secretly hoping is spawned by “Game of Thrones” and George R.R. Martin will come out atop a model of one of Dany’s dragons. (Wishful thinking.)

This is probably just going to be a predictable episode, since based on the editing, we feel like the final six will probably contain Ahran, Leslie, Courtney, and Big Willie, who are to us the most memorable characters of the entire season. They’ve received a ton of screen time, and also all seem to be pretty darn good cooks.
