‘The Walking Dead’ season 5: Emily Kenney on production process
Is Emily Kenney going to return to “The Walking Dead” for season 5? Signs point to yes, and not because of anything that she said in a new interview with Sports Talk Florida. It’s more of a symptom of the fact that we haven’t seen her body yet. We are a staunch advocate of one particular rule when it comes to scripted TV: If there’s no body, you’re probably still alive … especially if it’s a cliffhanger ending. It almost always gets leaked if you are actually leaving the show.
So we’re not going to get into the whole game of trying to read too much into Kinney’s comments with an outlet, mostly because that just seems desperate. We’d rather be surprised when she does turn up, especially in terms of where she happens to be.
Instead, why not focus on what part of the process that she enjoys the most? The answer may surprise some of you out there:
“I love reading the episodes. I love watching them but we have such great writers that I will read an episode and be like ‘Oh my God, this is my favorite episode’ and then I read the next episode and I’m like ‘Oh this is the best one and I can’t wait to see what it’s gonna look like’ … think just that first…just seeing how the group is going to get out of the situation they’re in is gonna be really exciting and really crazy and and a roller-coaster and I think just right out of the gate that first episode [this coming season] is gonna be really fun.”
There have been a number of really good things said at this point from a variety of sources about this episode, so we are certainly beyond interested right now in seeing what happens next.
