‘The Newsroom’ season 3: When was Jeff Daniels’ last day filming?

What's next? -Can you believe that the journey may already be over for the cast of “The Newsroom“? That seems to be the case now, at least when it comes to those in the cast.

Filming on the HBO series wrapped last week, and star Jeff Daniels even tweeted out a nostalgic message on July 8 about the journey he has taken playing this tremendous Will McAvoy character:

Last day on the #Newsroom Set. Seems like yesterday I was vamping my way through coverage of the BP Oil Spill…”

If he feels so nostalgic, we can only imagine how we are going to feel when the show actually returns to HBO. This is definitely one that we have enjoyed greatly over the years, even in the face of the occasionally criticism from critics about some of its flaws. Unfortunately, it also feels like it is one that is gone too soon. While you never want to overstay your welcome, we’d probably feel a little more pleased if this final season was around 12 episodes or so, or there was a short fourth season to give us some more closure. Having a tiny handful of episodes with an undetermined premiere date at the moment simply does not feel like enough.

Daniels still has many things to celebrate and look forward to with his castmates, including promoting the new season in the coming months and also his Emmy nomination from last week for season 2. He is the reigning champion, and thanks to that he will be entering the show with all sorts of momentum.
