‘MasterChef’ season 5, episode 9 preview: Will Elise be evacuated from the competition?

Tonight’s episode of “MasterChef” was for the first fifty or so minutes routine, but then Cutter went off on his red velvet cake and made things all sorts of insane. He’s lucky that this is a cooking competition and not an attitude competition, since he would otherwise be probably headed home at this point. Instead, Dan is gone, and we’re left with 13 very different (but talented) cooks.

So where does the competition go from here? Next week, we are going to be back in the kitchen for one of the routine Mystery Box Challenges, which is apparently going to involve in some way one of the largest Mystery Boxes that we have seen on the show to date. Also, Gordon Ramsay will be cooking, and mostly proving to all of you that he is more than a guy who just shouts at people. Man can still seriously prepare and cook a great meal.

Unfortunately, there may be some other problems within the kitchen aside from the competition. Elise is going to be in serious danger of leaving the competition for medical reasons it seems, as she needs to call on the help of a medic after starting to lose her balance during one of the challenges. We don’t know what the ruling is here; while she would be fine if this was a Mystery Box and she didn’t finish, but if it is an Elimination Challenge, her food may just be presented as-is. More than anything, though, we just hope that she ends up okay. More than likely, she is probably just feeling exhaustion.
