‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: A Mariska Hargitay teaser and more

Law & Order: SVU logoThanks to the hard work and dedication of some “Law & Order: SVU” fans on Twitter, we come tonight bearing some good news: A first look at a scene from the upcoming season 16 premiere!

As a reward for fans getting a show topic trending Sunday night, executive producer Warren Leight shared on Twitter the 1.5 pages of script that you can see at the bottom of this article. It’s a scene between Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Amaro (Danny Pino) that includes some discussion about the case, and also a little bit of a discuss about how motherhood is treating her so far. It’s a nice little gift to see early, especially for those of you who have been rocking back and forth with anticipation of something specific to look forward to.

In addition to the script, Leight also shared a few other assorted teasers throughout the night for those interested:

  • The premiere episode this year will only be an hour, but he promises that it will be jam-packed with content.
  • While there is no confirmation that Mariska will direct an episode this coming season, Leight would be happy if she does.
  • You will learn some more about Amanda’s time in Atlanta around midseason.
  • Amaro’s present family situation is certainly going to be addressed.
  • There will “most likely” be some episodes that revolve around Barba moving forward.
  • As for the show’s future, Leight hopes that season 16 is not the last one. Unfortunately, that decision is entirely in NBC’s hands and he has little control over it.

All in all, not a bad way to spend your night if you are an “SVU” fan! You can either watch or tweet along with a repeat on the network, and then you get to find out some more information about next season. Leight is promising something similar next weekend as a reward when “Comic Perversion” airs.
