‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8’s Comic-Con panel confirmed

Here it is -When we first saw the Comic-Con panel listing this week for “The Big Bang Theory,” we knew almost immediately that there was going to be a pretty polarizing reaction to it. For the second straight year, there are no cast members announced at the panel, which will be held on Friday, July 25 at 10:00 a.m. in Ballroom 20. Instead, the team of writers will be back on-hand to deliver some behind-the-scenes stories and fun from TV’s most-popular comedy.

We know that there will be some disappointment that there are no cast members announced for now, and we suppose it’s still possible that one or two will turn up thanks to the cameos last year. (The Johnny Galecki one from the crows was particularly fun.) On the flip side, we really had a great time watching the panel last year. The writers have great stories to tell, and for a production geek it’s a great chance to see what the process is like delivering 24 episodes of a sitcom to viewers a year. It’s a challenge, and it takes a lot of creative input (and also probably a lot of caffeine).

For those wondering when filming for the new season is set to begin, it’ll get started a little later this summer. Unless something drastic changes this year, sitcom schedules typically allow for a later start time for the cast thanks to the way that they film with a live audience on a set. It’s one of the many reasons why this medium is so attractive to actors these days.
