‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, ‘The Originals’ season 2, and directing news

The latest -There may not be just a whole lot of scoop out there about either “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals,” but how about something pertaining to how things work behind the scenes?

This article is all about directing, primarily in the form of who is doing the premiere episode of the flagship show, and then the upcoming fourth episode of the Joseph Morgan spin-off: Jeffrey Hunt. For those interested in seeing a catalog of his experience with the two CW shows, he’s done three episodes of each, with one of the most notable ones being the “Originals” episode entitled “The Battle of New Orleans.”

Just to add to all the excitement, Hunt posted the following on Twitter all about the premiere:

#TVD fans episode 601 is going to take you on a emotional roller coaster you may not be ready for. suggest you start preparing now.”

Given where “The Vampire Diaries” has to go within its premiere, calling it “emotional” may even be an understatement. Just think about the ground that needs to be covered here for a minute: Not only do you have to ensure that Damon and Bonnie’s current state is clear to viewers, but you have to give us a sense of what life is like in Mystic Falls without them, and what the return of Alaric is really going to mean. This may be one of the most complicated premieres that the show has ever done just from the perspective of the ground it needs to cover. This may be a very excellent thing, but there is also a certain percentage chance that this episode turns out a mess.
