‘Supernatural’ season 10 spoilers: Who’s joining Sam, Dean, and company next?

“Supernatural” has been off the air for a while now, but the good news is that following the doldrums that come in June, July is typically the first month where we start to see some real, genuine scoop for the future … and that is precisely what we have here with some of the first casting news.

According to a new report from TVLine, the premiere episode currently entitled “Soul Survivor” will bring in a “tough but elegant” woman by the name of Rowena, who is going to do almost anything she can to claim her authority. While the casting is fairly open, producers are currently favoring those who have a Scottish accent. We’ll let you speculate over that one.

Obviously, the cool news to us here is that this marks an opportunity to see yet another interesting face in the world of the show. However, the flip side of that is that women on this show do not have a good track record of staying around. While there are some notable exceptions (Charlie, Jody Mills), there are also a whole chorus of dead characters to look back on, with one of the most recent ones being Abaddon. This show is fearless when it comes to the people that they choose to kill off, and you just have to be either accepting of that, or you’re going to otherwise have a very hard time enjoying the show.

“Supernatural” season 10 will premiere on The CW come Tuesday, October 7, and the primary question most want to know is what happens to Dean as a demon. We don’t imagine anyone will be saying a whole lot about that for a while.
