TV Quick Hits: ‘Gotham’ trailer, Jimmy Kimmel’s new deal, ‘The Bridge’ season 2 promo

Jimmy Kimmel’s new deal – Just in case you were worried about whether or not “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” was going to go away after “The Late Show with David Letterman” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” say goodbye, here’s some good news for you: He is not going anywhere in the near future.

ABC has decided to re-up Kimmel’s contract until January 2017, and come this time next year, he will actually hold the title of longest-tenured late-night host on broadcast TV. (Jon Stewart has been around longer, but on cable.) While Kimmel may not be #1 in the timeslot, he does routinely perform well and has an enormous web following courtesy of some of his comedy bits.

Bill Eichner’s new show – According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Billy on the Street” star is teaming with Amy Poehler and Julie Klausner on a pilot presentation for “Different People,” a show about two pop-culture fanatics played by Eichner and Klausner who hate just about everyone. Basically, this is not much of a stretch from the personal that he already plays.

For those curious, it is believed that Eichner will return as Craig for the seventh season of “Parks and Recreation,” potentially even as a series regular.

“Gotham” trailer – The first video is out for Fox’s “Gotham” series premiering in the fall is out, and in a word, it’s awesome. There’s not too much else that needs to really be said here, given that you can just take a look below and enjoy.

“The Bridge” video – Meanwhile, we feel like we do need to say a little bit more on FX’s “The Bridge,” given that this is a series that doesn’t come from a property that everyone already knows. The first season was a fantastic cat-and-mouse game between people on different sides of the US – Mexico border, and while we do not know for sure what story is left to tell, it will be interesting to find out.
