‘The Amazing Race 24’ preview: Rachel’s donkey is broken

Brenchel -First things first, let us start off this “Amazing Race 24” preview article with a nice salute to those out there who caught the reference in this article’s title. Hooray for longtime viewers of the show!

Sunday night’s episode is one that is going to contain all sorts of fun drama, whether you are talking about the prospect of a Double U-Turn for the first time all season long, more challenges, and of course having to work on a task with live animals. There’s nothing harder than having to leave your life in the race up to something that does not always want to be along for the ride … and donkeys are stubborn creatures. Having to ride on one of them is always a gamble.

First of all, can we say that we feel for any donkey that may have to deal with Big Easy on this challenge? Maybe this is one of those tasks that he is not allowed to do thanks to his size, or maybe this is finally the Fast Forward that we’ve yet to see all leg. If there is a time for this to occur, it would be now. Remember here that with this power, you don’t have to worry about being U-Turned, and consequently stuck near the end of the pack.

Regardless of what is going on, the thing that we can say universally here without hesitation is that Brendon & Rachel are having a hard time with this. Specifically, Rachel’s donkey has no interest whatsoever in going on this journey with her, and hilarity ensues. But in the end, we have to say that we’re super-impressed with her positive spirit this season. She hasn’t been really rattled by much, and that is what turns her into an even bigger threat to win with her husband. We didn’t just pick them to win at the start of the season because we are fans, and because it would make Rachel the first person to win on two of CBS’ big three shows. (Rob & Amber got close, as did Hayden Moss.)

We’ll be back tomorrow with our full contestant rankings, which you can check out at the link here. Also, be sure to sign up in order to get some email updates in your inbox every Sunday.
