ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: Shonda Rhimes on Harrison’s fate, Olivia’s next move

The “Scandal” finale is over, but there is still plenty to talk about here when it comes to what could be coming up. The show hasn’t been renewed just yet, but let’s be honest: It’s going to happen. At this point, it almost seems like a lock.

ABC has so much faith in “Scandal,” in fact, that creator Shonda Rhimes and Jimmy Kimmel sat down for an extensive interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday night. Regardless of whether or not Kimmel is a huge gladiator in real life, he did a very nice job making all of the fans feel welcome through this. There were interviews featuring most of the cast, a little bit of scoop here and there, and also some moments that you didn’t see coming.

The unfortunate thing is that for those of you who wanted some more legitimate scoop on what could be coming up, you will probably be disappointed. After all, Rhimes would not confirm or deny that Harrison was really dead, just as she would not confirm whether or not Olivia would stay away for a long period of time. Most of the special was instead devoted to some random comedy bits and various hijinks. We saw some bloopers from the cast, interview highlights from over the past couple of years, and also segments from the viral series that Kimmel has set up starring his sidekick Guillermo.

For those of you who really love “Scandal,” you probably found all of this time be very fun … even if there were times when it felt like you were watching a DVD extra.
