‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: College football player scores mystery role

More news -Now that we are getting close to the start of “The Walking Dead” getting into season 5 production, some of the first casting news is starting to come out. However, you have to remember that with msot of this news is going to come a heavy veil of secrecy. The folks over at AMC (plus Robert Kirkman and the producers) have no real interest in pulling a OneRepublic and giving all of their secrets away months before the show premiere.

What we can tell you for now is that former University of Georgia college football star Chase Vasser, per his own Twitter, has sign on for a part in the upcoming fifth season. Proximity wise, this gig makes some sense given that the show shoots in the Atlanta area, and he’s already familiar with the surroundings.

As for who he’s playing, you can always guess if you want that it will be a member of the group at Terminus. After all, this would make a bit of sense given that is where all the characters already are, and it’s easy to foresee that we haven’t met everyone there yet. The only other possibility is that he is someone who either Tyreese / Carol or Beth run into, given that they are some of the other people currently running around out there.

“The Walking Dead” will probably premiere around the middle of October, at least if we are following the lead of every other season that has come before this one. There will also surely be all sorts of casting news coming out for other characters soon, so be on the lookout for that.
