NBC’s ‘The Voice’ review: Did Bria Kelly, Josh Kaufman advance for Team Usher?

The Voice -The final round of “The Voice” playoffs aired on Tuesday night Team Usher, and when it comes to performances, the singer is a pretty lucky dude. Most of the people on his team did a good job with the time that they were given.

As with all of the other reviews for this stage in the competition, we’re going through all of these singers in order from worse to first.

5. Stevie Jo – This wasn’t the best performance for Stevie, but the irony here is that we’d put it into the top 3 of many of the other teams. Everyone was just on their game tonight.

4. Melissa Jimenez – Melissa is a good singer, but “Halo”? Let’s just say that this song is far too depressing for our taste. Also, the low notes weren’t a great look for her.

3. TJ Wilkins – We’re not going to sit here and say that this Stevie Wonder performance was perfect or completely original, but there were some great moments in it. TJ’s one of those guys that could be a darkhorse with the right song.

2. Bria Kelly – Bria loves a good rock song, and this “Wild Horses” cover was close to stellar. There were a few notes that were a little too aggressive, but the potential is here for her to be a killer artist and a threat to win the season.

1. Josh Kaufman  – This guy is such a vocal beast. He nails almost everything that he does, and the fact that he was even forced to be stolen by another coach is stunning to us.

The result – It’s weird to be right on all counts! Cheers to you, Usher! Josh, Bria, and TJ are all moving on, which means to us that he is moving forward with arguably the best team of anyone. Let’s just see if he can figure out how to use them. Grade: B+.
