ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 3 spoilers: A new identity for Emily Thorne?

What in the world is happening on “Revenge“? More so than that, we feel like we should be asking what in the world is happening with some of the press releases that ABC is putting out right now for the show. They are really not putting that much effort at the moment into giving you anything to talk about; as a matter of fact, almost every single one of them feels like you’re reading the same exact thing.

For example, just take a look at what we have for “Revolution,” the next new episode of the series that will come on ABC a week from Sunday:

“As all the Graysons slowly gain the upper hand, Emily is forced to take on a new identity to expose them.”

So what do we have here? Check to having the Emily – Grayson family tension, and check to her having a new plan to take them down. The new identity is really the only thing in here that is a surprise, mostly because we cannot quite imagine her pulling something like this off now that everyone knows who she is.

The one thing we feel we can almost definitively agree on is that season 3 is slowly descending off of the face of a cliff. The first half of the season was a huge step up from season 2, but now it feels like we’re spinning our wheels and not really getting anywhere. If there is a fourth season to wrap up the story, we hope that it tries to actually either introduce a new villain, or a wrinkle to this story that makes Emily’s mission actually more complicated.
