TV Quick Hits: ‘Awkward.’ season 4 video, ‘Hell on Wheels’ alum joins ABC show, more

Casting news – The first headline here comes for everyone who has been awaiting some more news on “The Astronaut Wives’ Club,” a series that we at first felt was meant to be the new “Mistresses” before ABC decided to bump the series back to midseason next year rather than airing it in the originally-planned time this summer.

As for the casting scoop, “Hell on Wheels” alum Dominique McElligott has signed up to be the lead on the show, which comes via “Gossip Girl” alum Stephanie Savage. Among the other notable cast members are JoAnna Garcia Swisher (currently on “Once Upon a Time”) and also Odette Annable (recently on “Two and a Half Men”). The title for the show is pretty self-explanatory, but we like to imagine that this is ABC’s attempt to cash in on the success of “Gravity.”

More casting news – Love “Elementary”? Then you may be interested in knowing that per TV Guide, “Shameless” star Emily Bergl is going to get star in an upcoming episode as a tattoo artist who somehow gets herself mixed up in a case that has her suspected of killing her husband. It is hardly the most unique storyline we’ve ever heard in the world, but we’re still intrigued in how it will play out.

“Hemlock Grove” premiere – For fans of the Netflix series, season 2 will debut on the streaming service on Friday, July 11 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern time.

“Awkward.” promo – Finally, take a look below at a pretty silly new teaser for the upcoming season of “Awkward,” which is going to launch on MTV on Tuesday night. We never quite thought that we’d see Sadie dancing, but we’ll take it. (Video via SpoilerTV.)
