‘The Bachelorette’: Andi Dorfman’s season, ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ premiere dates revealed

ABC on Monday announced their full slate of summer premiere dates, which is great news if you love “The Bachelorette” … and really bad news if you wanted one final nail stuck in the coffin of “Whodunnit.”

Below, take a look at the official premiere dates for everything that ABC has coming up over the course of the next several months, which includes the return of both the flagship edition of the summer dating franchise and a brand-new spin-off “Bachelor in Paradise,”

Thursday, April 24 – “Black Box” (10:00 p.m. Eastern)

Monday, May 19 – “The Bachelorette” (premieres at 9:30, will switch to 8:00 the following week)

Wednesday, May 21 – “Motive” (10:00)

Tuesday, May 27 – “Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition” (8:00)

Saturday, May 31 – “Bet on Your Baby” (8:00, and how in the world did this idea get ordered?)

Monday, June 2 – “Mistresses” (10:00)

Tuesday, June 19 – “The Quest” (8:00)

Sunday, June 22 – “Wipeout” (premiering at 7:00, will shift an hour later the next week), “Rising Star” (9:00)

Tuesday, June 24 – “NY Med” (10:00)

Thursday, July 17 – “Rookie Blue” (10:00)

Thursday, July 24 – “The Astronaut Wives’ Club” (9:00)

Monday, August 4 – “Bachelor in Paradise” (8:00)

None of these premiere dates are exactly much of a surprise, since they show that ABC is at least reasonably committed to having some new stuff on the air. We don’t imagine big things for their singing competition “Rising Star,” but they have some scripted potential with the return of “Mistresses” (which did improve as time went on in the numbers) and also “The Astronaut Wives’ Club,” which has the potential to become a solid hit for the network with the right campaign behind it.

But still, their real anchor is “The Bachelorette” starring Andi Dorfman, and they need to make sure that this is a better season quality-wise than what we had with Juan Pablo Galavis in the role.
