‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: The major mystery of Neal

Is there a character on “Once Upon a Time” who drifts more regular into parts unknown than Neal? Let’s just try to look at that for a moment. During most of the first season and a half, the character was strictly absent, and we were left to speculate just who Henry’s father really was, what he was like, and if he had any association at all with the fairy tale world.

Then, at the start of season 3, he was missing again after being sucked away to the modern-day fairy tale world, where Mulan and Aurora are most likely still roaming around, even though neither Jamie Chung nor Sarah Bolger have been a part of the show much as of late. The twist now for Neal is that he is once again absent, as he has yet to surface in the new Storybrooke after being sent back to the fairy tale world again after the Evil Queen cast a new spell to save most of the town.

To anyone who has not watched the series, all of this is probably rather confusing … and understandably so. The one thing that we are nonetheless very happy to report here is that you are going to at least get some answers when it comes to Michael Raymond-James’ character soon enough. Per TVLine, answers about Neal are coming within the next few episodes of the show, and there is therefore no reason to worry that the producers are going to just continue to torment you with no information whatsoever between now and when we get near the season finale (which is, in case you haven’t heard, going to be a two-hour event).
