ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3, episode 11 video: A new Kerry Washington peek

Are you not excited enough for Thursday, February 27? This is when you are going to see “Scandal” back on the air, and with an episode that should hopefully be very exciting to you.

One thing that you can especially look forward to? The continuation of a very unusual alliance that features Mellie and Olivia Pope actually working side by side. Does Mellie hate Olivia, and largely what she did to her marriage? We have to assume that she does, and there has to be some sort of legitimate reason why she would want to team up with her now. We assume that it probably has a little something to do with the fact that Mellie is a very smart woman, and she knows that she can use Olivia at times to further her own self-interests.

Right now, at the top of her list of interests is probably making sure her husband wins his re-election. That is where their worlds collide. We anticipate the alliance between the two having something to do with that, especially given that Mellie is well aware that she is in a loveless marriage, and there are plenty of possibilities for her to find some sort of romance elsewhere. (Some of the scoop that is out there about it right now suggests as such.)

While Kerry Washington’s character may not be willing to divulge it just yet, we do also imagine that she is in a place right now where she could also use the support. After all, her mother is back on the scene, and we know now that this means big trouble.
