‘Sherlock’ season 3 finale spoilers: Episode 3, ‘His Last Vow,’ Charles Augustus Magnussen

Sherlock season 3“Sherlock” season 3 is already (sadly) close to an end. After you watched tonight’s new episode “The Sign of Three,” you may be wondering just what could top the greatness that was the wedding of Watson, complete with Sherlock making the best/worst best man speech ever, a case to solve and a big reveal for Mary and John.

Before we do anything else, let’s start with the basics when it comes to the final episode of the season entitled “His Last Vow.” The first thing to know is that the airdate will be on January 12, which is a little bit of a wait between episodes that we had this time. Given everything that you have been able to digest as of late, that is certainly not a bad thing to wait a little while.

As for the official synopsis for this episode, you can see it below in the event that you haven’t already:

“In the final episode of this new series, written by Steven Moffat, a case of stolen letters leads Sherlock Holmes into a long conflict with Charles Augustus Magnussen, the Napoleon of blackmail, and the one man he truly hates. But how do you tackle a foe who knows the personal weakness of every person of importance in the Western world?”

In watching the promo HERE, there is really only one thing to look for above all else: Charles Augustus Magnussen. This famed villain, played here by Lars Mikkelsen, is going to be a tremendous rival for Sherlock to try to overcome. It’s a little sad in the end to think that this is the end of Sherlock’s journey already when it really feels like it just began. Let’s just hope that we are not going to have to wait for two years again to see the start of another season.
