‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: First look at the new Mountain

“Game of Thrones” is a show with such a massive cast that occasionally there are some bumps in the road that will lead to some changes. While we don’t always like it, the name of the game is that sometimes, recastings have to happen.

The most-publicized ones of these over the course of the past several months has been the role of Daario, who was fairly prominent in his scenes with Danaerys in season 3. However, both Joffrey’s little brother Tommen and also The Mountain have been recast (the latter for the second time), and we now have our first look at the latest version of the character in action.

As discovered in an Instagram post from actor Hafthor “Thor” Bjornsson via Winter Is Coming, you can take a look below at what this new Mountain looks like. It is pretty easy to say that the guy seriously lives up to the name. This is literally mountain of a man; even if Bjornsson is smiling in this photo taken from Dubrovnik, Croatia, it’s best to not let that fool you at all.

While The Mountain is not necessarily a gigantic character on the level of one of the Starks or the Lannisters, he is one of the many faces that really goes into the menagerie that makes “Game of Thrones” what it is: One heck of an awesome show that does more than almost any other series on TV with what it has. This includes milking its budget, traveling all around the world, and showing off an array of impressive costumes.

What do you think about this photo, and are you really going to miss any of the old “Game of Thrones” Mountains? Be sure to share your thoughts below.
