Kathy Griffin trolls Anderson Cooper with Taylor Swift ‘appearance,’ weather talk

Tonight on CNN, Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin kicked off what has to be one of our favorite New Year’s Eve show, mostly because the entire thing is so completely silly. Throughout the show, we basically have Anderson getting roasted by his co-host, who seems to make it her goal year after year to terrorize him.

This time around, Kathy started off the show by doing something that she has done so many times before: Tried to announce performers who were not actually appearing on the show … including Taylor Swift, and the “reunion” of some other classic acts from the 1960s and 70s.

Some of the events that are coming up on this show tonight include some visits to other parts of the world, interviews with notable newsmakers, and also the opportunity to see what happens over the course of the entire show. This is really a show that is a marathon more than a sprint, though, with Kathy getting increasingly bored and loopy as the night goes on.

The irony of Griffin’s Swift announcement? There is actually a part of us that feels like that she actually would have appeared on the show if she was asked and had the time to do it. She has a sense of humor, and seems like she could be a fan of both Anderson and Kathy. (We imagine that this show is also probably fun to watch while drinking, but we’re holding out here to get all of the news to you!)
