Mrs. Carter: While Coach Beiste continues her journey to find her own happy ending on “Glee” season 5, Dot-Marie Jones has found one with Bridgett Casteen.
People Magazine reports that this weekend, the couple did something that you hear about happening all the time in movies, but you never really see take place much in real life. The two invited many of their friends and family over for what was meant to be a holiday party, but when they all arrived, they were informed of the surprising news that there was actually going to be a wedding taking place. The two have been together for some time, and this was the first marriage for Jones and the second for Casteen.
Dot-Marie’s story on “Glee” has always been an entertaining one both on and off-screen. She was originally cast for the Beiste role after approaching co-creator Ryan Murphy at a grocery store, and she has since been nominated for a pair of Emmys for the role. While we know that everyone would love to see her around the show more than she is, the problem with that is mostly that you have to find a good story that makes sense for the Beiste character. That’s not always easy when you are a football coach on a show that is mostly about a glee club.
In addition to being on “Glee,” Jones has also had small parts on both “The Exes” and the short-lived “Are You There, Chelsea?” series on NBC. It’s going to be hard to see much more of her following the students’ graduation from McKinley High later this spring, but hopefully she will be able to parlay her success here onto another series.
“Glee” will return with new episodes this February, but in going back to Jones and Casteen’s wedding, massive congratulations are in order! Feel free to share your thoughts below. Also, be sure to subscribe to our page if you want to get more updates on this and other shows.
